I had read the reviews before booking so knew what I was getting into. A charming spot it is, without a doubt. The room feels old as it should but the electrical system seemed like it was upgraded economically, not up to modern standards. The shower in the room was an addition that took part of the main space - the shower stall was minuscule. So as far as the facilities are concerned, I would say they are in dire need of capital investment. As far as the included free breakfast on the beautiful veranda or lovely breakfast room, it was offered in a miserly fashion. One day, I was served a single egg, one quarter of a slice of ham, one breakfast sausage. Instead of being offered milk proactively with my coffee, I had to ask (for three of them). Server came back with the three in the hand but only put one on the table. I had to ask again for all three of them. The previous day saw two eggs on English muffins, with the same amount of sides. The two days also had frozen cubed potatoes as a side as well. I have never seen such a meal in any restaurant. You get what they make, there are no other options. I would rather they increase the price of the room by a few dollars and serve a decent breakfast than provide a miserly breakfast - it does nothing for their brand.
