"Nice hotel in a great location near Gion. Lots of food options nearby. Very walkable and near subway. Check in and check out were no-contact and easy. You cannot transport luggage to this hotel because they do not always have staff manning the front desk. You can transport luggage to Yamato Transport which is about a 15 min walk from the hotel. Room is good size and clean. Beds were comfortable. "

"We stayed in both the western style and Japanese style rooms and they were both lovely - elegant, spacious, clean. Location is great and many sites are walkable. It is just around the corner from a bus stop that takes you direction to Kyoto station and there is also conveniently a 7/11 very nearby."

"Poor customer service upon check in. We were 20 minutes early for a 3pm check in time and were not permitted in. Crazy when previous hotel allowed check in three hours earlier. Even respecting the 3pm check in time, it was the rudeness of staff that set a bad tone for the stay. Staff remained unfriendly the full duration, never saying hello or goodbye as you enter and exit the building. Very different experience to our precious hotels in Japan. "The hotel is around 15-20 min walk from the main area of Kyoto for food and shopping. It has a few local eats that are popular close by as well. It’s around 10 min away from this local bakery that has a best shrimp cutler bread that was very very good we had it 3 days in a roll. The rooms are very spacious and clean. Only down side is any closest convenient store is maybe around 5 min walk, which is not as close as some of the property I have stayed at Japan where convenient store is usually...
