"Amazing, last minute stay. We booked a 2 night weekend stay (last minute). From the moment of booking, Gail was attentive, helpful, friendly and immediately put us at ease. Excellent directions were given, and upon arrival we were very pleasantly surprised. We bagged a real bargain and everything was perfect with the cottage from start to finish. We used this cottage as a base to get to York (one of the busiest weekends due to Christmas Market), and although a little further out - the weekend...

"The first time we have stayed here, the cottage was so lovely, warm homely and clean. We only had to walk around the corner to The Blue Bell Inn and had a wonderful meal. The village is a hidden gem, we chatted to some of the people in the village and they were so friendly. They had a Street Fayre today, which is what they do every year on the second Sunday of June, unfortunately we had commitments, we had to leave early, however we do plan to book the cottage for next year and stay longer. "Good location but property not as described. Hot water runs for 10 seconds; can’t take a bath. Windows permanently condensated and mouldy - curtains also with mould. Carpet dirty - needs replacing!"

"Communication was lacking on this booking. I didn’t receive an email beforehand with details of how to obtain key to the property, after reaching out i did get it just in time for our arrival. The cottage was plenty big enough for 4 of us but we found that the cleanliness was not up to our standards. "Excellent base to visit York. A pleasant 30 minute walk along the river into York. Property was very clean and warm. Owner very attentive. Kindly left milk, tea, coffee and biscuits which we were grateful for. "

"Always great when we stay at the little hide. We have been a few times just me and my fellas little getaway. Its our peace place with out the kiddies. Lovely and quite this time of year. Was on the cold side with the weather but the heater in the pod was amazeing at keeping you toastie. The only down fall for me was the magpie that seemd to haunt me whilst there hahaha. Really funny. The cafe food is excellent good price. Absolutely love this place."
