Our hosts were extremely friendly and attentive. We had an issue with the sink in our bathroom and Tiron came to fix it within minutes. We also dined an Mansala House after our safari, the food was fresh and delicious. Tiron also arranged our safari guide who was great.

5 star customer service by this hotel. Tiron informed us before we arrived that there was an issue with the room, so he took the liberty to book us an alternative hotel that turned out to be just as nice as his! Communication was easy with him via WhatsApp, allowing us to easily book a safari the very next morning with a very well spoken and knowledgeable driver/guide. 10/10 would stay again.

Great guesthouse base for Safari
We had a fantastic stay with Tiron and his family, very welcoming and authenticly friendly hosts. Tiron organised 2x safaris over our stay (4 hr PM and 6 hr AM), both of which were really fantastic, we had a private jeep and had amazing experiences with elephants, wild buffalo, crocodiles, deer, mongoose and a load of interesting birds. Tiron was really attentive throughout our stay and always made sure we had bottles of water and was even up with packed lunches for our 5am safari start. We also ate dinner at the house both nights, cooked from scratch by the family - highly recommended!

Amazing stay and wonderful hospitality
We had an amazing stay here. The room was lovely with an outdoor bathroom , a veranda and jungle views with toucans and wildlife in the garden area. The owner and his family were incredibly hospitable, we had juice and lovely cake on arrival, we requested our safari tour and this was organised immediately which we really enjoyed. a fantastic breakfast was served after we returned and then a car organised for our onward destination. Such a lovely experience and would definitely recommend a trip here. i did a lot of research before booking and this paid off.

Beautiful family home
Tiron and his family were wonderful hosts. It was lovely to be welcomed into their home so warmly. We didnt have to think about anything during our stay with them. Food was always freshly prepared and ready for us. Tiron organised our safari tour with Devinda who was an excellent guide and driver who seemed to find us all the animals, stopped and waited to let us watch for several minutes. We were often the only ones around. We loved that he was able to share facts and all types of details about what we saw. Excellent english as well. Tiron also helped arrange our onward travel transfers. He was such a helpful and thoughtful host, thank you so much for your kindness!!

Beautiful Location and Kind Owner
What a beautiful location and home. The air conditioning was on in the room when I got there which felt amazing in the heat and the owner was extremely welcoming, kind, and helpful. He helped me book a safari tour right away and made me feel extremely comfortable. Outdoor rock shower was very cool and the breakfast was yummy. Would definitely come back!

I can’t say enough good things about Tiron and his family who run the Mansala Safari Guest House. They set us up with a great safari guide, and cooked up some delicious traditional Sri Lankan food. This stay is a great value for your money and I would highly recommend if you’re planning on visiting Uduwalawa.

Mansala Safari House is just perfect. The rooms are beautiful, really good quality and spotlessly clean. Each room has a private veranda and it is so lovely to sit there on an evening listening the relaxing music, surrounded by palm trees and the sounds of nature. The owner Tiron and his family have got it exactly right, they are very welcoming whilst still giving you privacy. Tirons wife is a fantastic cook and they can arrange breakfast and dinner for you if you ask. Tiron is also able to arrange anything you need such as transport and of course safaris. Tiron uses 2 experienced safari guides, I had 3 private safaris with Nadeera and he was excellent, very quiet and respectful of the animals whilst delivering an outstanding experience for you. I could not believe the amount of elephants, monkeys, crocodiles and other endemic animals, as well as so many beautiful coloured birds. It is very reasonably priced too. Tiron sees you off at 0545 or 1400 supplying binoculars and water and is waiting for you on your return to make sure you have had an amazing experience. I cannot fault Mansala Safari House at all. I am travelling Sri Lanka alone and have felt very safe and happy here. It is the nicest place I have stayed in Sri Lanka and I do not want to leave! If you are staying anywhere in Sri Lanka THIS is the place.

Nice property
Nice property. Quiet leafy location not far from town. Friendly owner and family. Clean sheets/linen and comfortable bed. Quiet a/c and adequate wifi. Excellent breakfast. Only thing lacking was desk/chair and TV in room. I would stay again - good value and convenient to Udawalawa National Park Safari jeeps.

Incredible hospitality
We were welcomed by the owner as if we were family and our stay here had that exact same vibe throughout. We were cooked the most amazing traditional Sri Lankan dinner before retiring to our room for the night. The room had its own balcony, basic bathroom and two huge beds. There was air con or fans and tea & coffee making facilities. It was basic but just what we needed for a one night stay. We had an early start and the hired organised our half day Safari at Udawalawe national park which was the most incredible experience. After that we called in at the elephant orphanage before heading back to the safari house for a monster of a breakfast. We would highly recommend this hotel as a base for the Udawalawe national park. The hosts were incredible and nothing was too much trouble.

This is as outstanding as a home stay can be; it’s a beautiful en suite room with a lovely balcony, large, good bathroom, good WiFi, with a wonderful family that provides outstanding Sri Lankan food, gracious hospitality and entertainment (the 3 year old is a trip). I asked for yogurt during breakfast (great hoppers, delicious fruit and samosas, etc.) and he said “be back in 5 minutes” and in spite of my protests he zoomed off on his motorbike and brought me very good yogurt. We had one of our best dinners in Sri Lanka there and I think it was $7 each. Super close to the elephant nursery a baker ride from the National park. Stay here!

Perfect guest house
My family stayed in Mansala guest house for 1 night while visiting the Uda Walawe national park. We were pleasantly surprised with efficience the owner organized the evening safari for us. We arrived at the guest house in the afternoon and were met by a welcoming drink and a lovely piece of freshly baked cake and in 20 minutes we were already in a jeep on the way to Uda Walawe National park. The standard of accommodation is very high, the spacious family room was spotlessly clean and there was plenty of hot water with high pressure in the bathroom. The quality of our breakfast was another surprise, we were served lovely avocado juice, fresh fruit, delicious pancakes, and egg hoppers, not to mention that owners kept bringing more and more food for us. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality!

A Good Stay
A very lovely family runs this establishment. The food was amazing and a good location for Udawalawe safari trip. We would recommend this cost-effective place. The outside shower was a bit getting used to, but the spaciousness helped. Glad we found this place! OsborneAdventures

We didn't actually get to stay in Mansala House, but in a friends/brothers/cousins place (you know the drill) that they used as overflow *. We paid the same amount, but the room didn't really match the pictures, and it was difficult to find out where breakfast was being served in the morning - ended up crashing in on the family next door by accident. Overall the room was OK. Breakfast once located was delicious. * I personally hate it when hosts do this. Seems very much like bate and switch tactics, using the nicer hotel to sell rooms in the poorer one.
