"We have stayed here several times in the past. Although the location is great the rooms are outdated, specially for the price and the fact it’s a 5 star hotel. 1 little bottle of shampoo and bodywash for 2 people and they were not replaced the 2nd day? 2weeks in the netherlands this was the most expensive one and the only one with no proper bodywash and shampoo provided, this is not to be expected in a 5 star hotel. I was told 2 years ago they were in progress of updating the rooms not no sign...

"Nice small boutique hotel, we had a generously sized room right under the roof. Downside: you need to walk up the stairs with your luggage and there's no help offered and you can't fully darken the room as the lower windows have no blinds."

"Lovely, simple, comfortable hotel with a cosy, authentic feel. The room was comfortable (great beds and plenty of room) and everything very clean and well cared for. Our room was at the front of the hotel overlooking the street and it was very, very noisy for much of the night. Guests who are light sleepers might want to request a room facing the back."

"Enjoyed the hotel and Maastricht as a whole. Driving to the hotel we passed it initially, and parking is at the back of the property. We loved the interior of the hotel and the staff was very helpful. We would stay there again!"

"Overall stay at Bastion was acceptable but was let down by lack of attention to detail i.e. numerous requests for extra towels and toilet rolls. Also TV did not work and at the end of our stay had still not been resolved ( hotel notified 3 times). No kettle in room and again 3 requests before it was provided."
