"We travelled from Kaipara for a 50th and decided to stay close to the venue for convenience. The room was great, had a lovely view of the water and contained everything we needed. We enjoyed a soak in the spa but felt the temperature could be increased for more warmth and relaxation. The property as a whole was nice and well maintained for an older facility. "After being initially disappointed that no milk was supplied in the room that was immediately replaced with amusement when after a quick call to reception a robot showed up at the room with 2 bottles of milk. A very enjoyable stay at a clean quiet hotel will excellent black out curtains. The transfer bus also stops right outside the main site providing a very efficient trip to the airport. All in all the perfect spot to overnight for an early morning flight. Diving options and the pool also...

Also, the hotel restaurant was quite good--we dined there two nights. Active people can walk to downtown and ferries . . . a bit more than mile or take a direct bus instead of looking for expensive downtown parking. We would stay again."

The check in procedure was extremely painful though. The receptionist was not able to communicate very well and left us baffled at times as to what she was saying. We wanted to park one car for the night, but this became a 15 minute ordeal to arrange. Pieces of paper were shoved in front of me with no explanation as to what I was supposed to...
