My husband and I enjoyed a romantic 2 days in this gorgeous little city. We took the train to Mt. Pilatus and really enjoyed the cheese fondue locally. The room was spacious and elegant. "I read both the good and bad reviews before reserving to be honest I had my doubts before the actual arrival. For context, I’ve travelled quite a bit, stayed in some of the best hotels and generally I’m a picky person. Let me tell you that this is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. "Nice lake views; occasional bad smells (3 times in two weeks); regular restaurant service is good in the newly reopened Stuebli it is fair at best; while food was great, waiters did not remove empty bread plates and champagne glasses at all, wine service was mediocre, guests closed the door while staff did not thus creating drafts. Maybe just reopening issues? Overall staff was very good. Easy train access into the city. Nice walks along the Tobelweg."
