"The sauna wasn't working. When I spoke to a member they said it was regularly not working. Steam room was very nice. My room was comfortable and clean. Good to have a mirror close to the electric socket so could see to dry hair. "

"Staff very helpful and friendly. Good filling classic breakfast with help yourself tea/coffee/toast/jam. There are food outlets/shops (in surrounding retail area, McDonald’s (5 min walk), m & s, Costa, KFC, and Tesco) if you decide to get takeaway and bring back to your room. Note: room only serviced every 3rd day of your stay, unless you request otherwise.. "Excellent hotel. I was very impressed by it all. Our room was the Charles Gooch Suite, which was so lovely and extremely large, perfect as we had our 4 year old son with us, who slept on the pull out sofa. I love how the hotel keeps the period features of the house so well, yet of course has all the modern facilities. Overall: spotlessly clean, helpful staff, comfortable beds, beautiful room, i would definitely recommend/return if in the area "

"Great service from arrival to departure, all the staff were polite and helpful. Room was spotless and spacious, the bathrobes and slippers were a nice touch. We ate in the restaurant and the food and service was very good. The breakfast was continental style with lots of choice. Would we return?......yes we would."

"Great location on the harbour. All the staff we met were very helpful and friendly. Room was comfortable and clean. Limited parking which is chargeable if not booking direct. 15 minute walk to town centre. We didn’t use the restaurant but looked nice with locally sourced goods. "

"We had a great stay in a superior room. It was my wife, daughter (7) and I. There was plenty room for the three of us and the service was great. The grounds were lovely and we were spoiled with sun. The food was amazing! After dining on our first night the quality of food made the decision for the other nights Service was great including late night dessert room service, and very understanding staff that still served us when we came to breakfast late one morning."
