"The property is in an amazing town with much history. The biggest problem is access. We made reservations five months before we arrived and at that time we requested a room on a lower floor, knowing the topography of the town and that some rooms had many steps. My wife and I are not kids but when we arrived, after not being met at the train station as promised we had to carry our bags up about 75-100 steps to our room. "Modern, spacious studio apartment. King size bed with memory foam mattress and pillows, so rarely found in Europe in my experience. Amazing waterfall shower. There are only 4 apartments, each with a semi-private terrace and guests can use the lovely garden as well. "Great relaxing holiday we cooked ourselves prefer than eating in the same restaurant every day Didn't no about extra costs like water and electricity charge so that was a bit of a problem but that was the booking company's fault not the hotel We would go back there"

"The staff at Suite d’auttore were so nice and helpful and pleasure to interact with. They recommended a fantastic restaurant (also very friendly) and showed me everywhere I should go in the city. "Brilliant location for Ragusa Ilba, loved wandering around exploring in the evenings. Checked in at at Hotel Barroca where the staff were wonderfully helpful and breakfast magnificent. We were perhaps expecting the studio apartment to be somewhat more characterful, with tiles and stone walls, however it was perfectly delightful."

"Very mixed experience. The hotel is centrally placed for Piazza Armerina. Clearly much money has been spent on the inside but it is at best a 2*. Had difficulty raising reception on arrival. Eventually a chamber maid arrived to do this. There was no room cleaning. Had to ask twice for toilet paper. No bathroom cleaning. No bed making. Breakfast was truly laughable. "Fantastic staff, starting with the super Cinzia and the amazing Daniele, the resort’s master chef. Our only regret is we couldn’t stay longer and experience Saturday pizza night. Palazzolo itself is lovely and you are just a 45 minute drive through the lovely countryside to such towns as Noto, Modica, Ragusa and Siracusa."

"Loved this property. It was the 2nd to last night of an 18 night trip and it was just what we needed. Quiet, relaxed, serene surroundings. The pool is large and well maintained. We were so relaxed, we spent most of the following day there instead of traveling early to do more sightseeing. We felt refreshed after a day of reading and lounging by the pool in this beautiful setting. Also had quiet walkways through lovely gardens. "

"Marvellous (and very interesting) building and very helpful staff, especially with recommendations for evening dining, Ragusa is blessed with a more than ample supply of good restaurants.The downsides were that the breakfast buffet wasn't replenished and the streetparking is a bit of a problem."

"Place was clean, well located and friendly staff. The breakfast was the best we had over the 8 different properties we stayed in. Home cooked dishes which were delicious. Room was a postage stamp, but clean and during a hot summer night the AC was super powerful. Def recommend the place. "

"A beautiful property in a stunning picturesque setting. Full of character & charm, great breakfast & dinner available. Bathroom could do with updating and rooms feel very dark. Biggest drawback was our room which we booked for a family of 4 and were given a room right in the centre of the courtyard by the restaurant and the children’s bedroom was adjacent to the noisy kitchen. Needless to say it was very disturbing and loud and the hotel were not able to help or move us, which was a real shame and put a downer on our stay. "
