"Excellent in almost every respect. Room was well appointed, clean, and bedding comfortable. It was more quiet than typically experienced in hotels. However, the open shower was not deep enough to prevent water from pouring out of the shower leaving the bathroom floor soaked and slippery. Also, our arrival and departure were in the dark. The very few handicapped spaces were occupied, and the open spaces near the front were designated for some promotional program of the hotel. We are both handicapped, yet we’re required to park at the very rear side of the building, and navigate in an almost totally dark parking lot, with luggage in hand. "

"It was super clean, the staff was very nice and friendly, the breakfast was fabulous, it was a full hot breakfast with many choices and was from a nearby bakery! Great location!"

"I love the fact that this property was walkable to many restaurants and shops. It was also close to the local free bus service that quickly took us to the main attractions in the area. We might have walked to some, but one of us was in a walking boot, so having the free bus service was a huge bonus. The property was older, but that's part of the charm going to a city like Charleston. The hotel restaurant, Swamp Fox, was fantastic and the staff at the hotel and restaurant were all super friendly. The only drawbacks were the very tiny elevator leading from the valet/drop off area to the lobby for check in and the odd bathroom setup. Since it's an older hotel, the bathrooms were off; there wasn't much counterspace, our friend's room had two odd-shaped bathrooms and the shower heads were very low, which was not fun for one of the guys in our group who is 6.4. At the end of the day, those are just minor items and would not deter me from staying there again. "
