Wherever you’re jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you’ve prepared well enough. We’ve made a list of essential travel tips that will get your Dodoma escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a cruisy experience if you pack the right gear. Firstly, you’ll want some toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a clean pair of socks and a good novel. Next, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your phone and charger, any medications and perhaps a blow-up neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, don’t forget to take your passport, travel documents and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Check carefully that you don’t have a pocket knife hiding in the bottom of your carry-on luggage. Other banned items include flammable or explosive substances, such as fuel and matches, and gels and liquids in containers with a capacity of more than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The answer to a comfortable flight can be as simple as your clothing choices. Prepare for temperature changes by bringing layers. This will keep you nice and warm if the cabin gets chilly. Shoes like flip flops and heels are best left in your suitcase. Even though they may be your favourites, opt for flat, closed-toed footwear like sneakers. Your feet will thank you for it.
- A condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It’s the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation. Walking up and down the aisle and doing leg and foot exercises while seated is a great way to prevent this developing. Wearing a quality pair of compression socks can also help.
