Wherever you’re coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you prepare well enough. Take a peek at these handy tips and tricks that will help get your Malay holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a cruisy experience if you’ve got all the right gear. Firstly, you’ll want a few basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a good read. Secondly, make room in your carry-on bag for your phone and charger, your medications and maybe a proper neck pillow too. Lastly, don’t forget to bring your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and matches, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to be as comfortable as you can. Don layers of natural-fibre clothing and don’t forget to pack a pullover in case it gets cold in the cabin. Opt for flat, slightly roomy shoes as it’s possible that your feet and ankles will swell during the flight. Leave the high heels and heavy hiking boots in your checked luggage.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long-distance travel is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To prevent this, make the most of every opportunity to walk around and give your legs a stretch. Compression tights and socks are another easy way to help reduce this risk.
