We’ve got the lowdown on how to make your journey a pleasant experience. Follow our tips and you’ll be zooming through airport security and seeing the best of Merimbula before you know it.What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a cruisy experience if you bring the right things. Firstly, you’ll want some basic toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a spare change of clothes and something to read. Next, find room in your carry-on bag for your phone and charger, any daily medications and maybe a quality neck pillow too. Lastly, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don’t have a pocket knife hiding in one of the compartments of your carry-on luggage. Other prohibited items include flammable or explosive goods, such as bleach and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers with a volume of more than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of your plane are not the place for a fashion parade. Layer yourself up with comfortable clothes and take a cardigan as it can get quite cool inside the cabin on long-haul flights. Flat, enclosed shoes are also a good choice.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long-distance travel is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To avoid this, take every opportunity to wander around the cabin. Compression socks and tights are also a great idea to help minimize this risk.
