"Property was beautiful with lush gardens. Convenient location to restaurants and shops. The 4 pools were clean and well maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful. Definetly felt safe and welcomed. Our room was smaller then expected but contained the essentials. We stayed during a very wet season, so clothes stayed damp and was a bit of musty smell in room. Even though it rained everyday, there was still lots to do. I would definetly recommend this property and stay here again. "

"We first visited Playa Negra in 1999. We are so pleased to say that nothing has changed! We love the rustic feel of the Round thatched roof cabins and how close they are to the beach. The rooms while simple and rustic were maculate and the linens crispy and fresh. We heart Playa Negra hotel! Thanks for keeping Playa Negra the same."

"We had to leave a day early. There was construction going on next to us which we were not told about ahead of time. They are building more bungalows. Between the open netting at the ceiling and windows without curtains, it was noisy and we had no privacy. In addition we waited 15 minutes and didn’t get hot water for the shower the last two mornings we were there. The beach was not walking distance as advertised. You would have to walk a dusty and busy road to get there. I was honest with...

"Gabriela the owner was ever so cordial. We arrived after 20 hours of airline problems. Also a great deal of rain plus the shuttle from airport to the hotel did not show. We were exhausted. Our room was clean not over decorated but comfy. We slept well woke to more rain but Gabriella helped us detour the roadside runoff so could have a nice breakfast. Hard to judge property when it has been raining cats and dogs but we were welre welcomed with a smile and felt safe"
