"The staff is absolutely exceptional. Very kind, polite, helpful and the nicest people. The location is pretty good too - about a 15-20min walk to old Funchal. The walk back could be longer due to the uphill but nothing too crazy. Parking can be tricky but I never had an issue parking at the lot that was designated for the buildings but not for the hotel. "We had a pool suite for a family of 4, and the room was enormous and so luxurious. The bed was very comfortable, and my children said that the sofa bed was too. We absolutely loved the pool on the balcony. Breakfast was very busy, and an amazing number of guests somehow manage to drop food on the floor.
