"The Heathman is beautiful and the staff are great. We had a few problems, though. We went to our room after being out and the door card didn’t work. We asked for help and they forgot about us. We had to call a second time. It turns out the battery had died. It took quite some time to get us in the room and we almost missed the performance we had paid for, next door. "We like the location, next to our son's apt. The atmosphere was very cool and charming. Old school elegant charm. Restaurant was part of the property. What we didn't like was too much street noise.The hotel provided ear plugs which solved the problem. Next time we will get a room higher off the street or interior room. "

We happened to visit shortly after the election, and learned from a local restaurant that many businesses had chosen to board their doors and windows (I guess Portland got crazy in 2020). However this did not detract from our experience. There is plenty to walk to and enjoy in the area. "This hotel was very nice. Staff was friendly and in a nice location in downtown Portland. We only stayed a night and parking was very expensive but at least with in and out privileges. They had a gym but never told us what floor it was on. Overall nice experience "
