Great convienent location right next to the train station and close to the Royal Mile along with a short walk all the other main attractions. Quiet rooms (bar some inconsiderate guests) and decent facilities. Staff were lovely and helpful.

Not very comfortable but ok-ish
The structure is fairly clean and in the city centre. It is one of the cheapest options if you're on a budget and are not too fussy. On a positive note, the water pressure from the shower was really good and breakfast is free (if you have booked directly from them, or £4 if not). Unfortunately, there are several problems. The beds were not very comfortable: -the rooms were really warm so it was hard to fall asleep; -the pillows were extremely flat and uncomfortable; -the bed sheet was too small for the mattress so the mattress was all curved up and I couldn't fully extend my legs. In the shower (and toilets), there was no ventilation so when you shower it gets all steamed up. In addition, there is nothing to separate the shower area from the little "bench" in the shower cabin so everything gets soaked up very easily. There are only two sinks (at least in the build where I was) so at times it can get packed when everyone needs to brush their teeth. There are small sinks in the toilets but they are not ideal. Lastly, the breakfast is quite lacking. Again, it is free if you book from them so you can't complain too much. But still, there was the bare minimum to make yourself a sandwich or have a cereal bowl so it was a little underwhelming.

Loud and not nice showers
The noise from the bar blow was louder then imagined and didn't stop until midnight. Very expensive for what you get, also shower is very small and doesn't have a hose shower but a fixed shower which I don't like. Location is very central which is great.

Overall, fantastic location, friendly service, and quite clean. Safe area and right in the middle of everything! Easy access to public transit, food, shops, etc. Downside: bar next door is very loud and people come and go at ALL hours.
