Farmstay in Fès-Meknès

"This hotel is supposed to be 4 star hotel, rooms look dirty and I even find a cockroach in the bed."

"Dar Bensouda was a lovely oasis of calm in the middle of the Fes medina! When I say “in the middle”, I mean it - so definitely take the option to have a porter meet you with a cart to help you with your bags through the medina! It’s a gorgeous place and reception was super helpful with helping me get in touch with my upcoming desert tour operator to arrange pick up times at location when they initially weren’t answering. Also definitely try their in-hotel hammam and their restaurant too for dinner while you are staying there! I noticed some reviews mentioned a bad smell but that was not the experience for me, throughout the hotel they had that lovely scent infuser like you get in luxury spas which I really enjoyed. Only stayed for one night as I was travelling through from Chefchaouen but wished I could have stayed longer!"

"This hotel was one of the most gorgeous properties I have ever stayed at. It’s hard to overstate how beautiful it was inside the hotel and the rooms. The staff was more than welcoming and remembered us immediately. The food offered by the hotel was phenomenal, really providing a taste of Morocco. They offered to set us up with a licensed tour guide to take us around the Medina. Everything was immaculate and would stay here again! The only downside was the Spa didn’t seem accommodating to booking after arrival "

"We booked this Riad for our quick impromptu trip to Fez for coupe of days. We had a great experience staying at Le Grand Alcazar - Riad is beautiful, clean, has stunning architecture and convenient located to Fez Medina. It’s walking distance to major sightseeing: Blue gate, Bou Inania Madrasa, Al Attarine Madra and more. Staff were very friendly, especially YUSUF! Yusuf is your go to person for anything you need, he can help you with booking day trip, recommendation for food, can bring you charger if your forgot yours, you name it and he will make it happen for you to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Overall great location, great place, nice view from terrace, lots of vegetarian options for food near by. I highly recommend this place. "

"Very much enjoyed our short stay - very nice hotel near the entrance to the Medina, so access from our car was easy. Note that if you want to have dinner there, one needs to give them notice early in the day or they may not be able to accommodate you with a full meal. Good to know because dining options in the Medina itself seem limited."
