We really enjoyed our stay at Tokyu Stay Hakodate Asaichi Akarinoyu! Our room was very cozy and had a view of the ocean which was nice! We chose it because of it's close location to the train station but it was also close to many of the attractions Hakodate has to offer including many good seafood and ramen restaurants. The staff was also very friendly and held our bags for us before we left for the train station. Overall great place to stay!

Room was unbearablely hot with AC not working. I made the mistake in retrospect of using the in room washer and dryer which made it so bad I had to keep the door propped open to cool it off. The exterior window faced west so got the brunt of the long afternoon sun. And it didn't open at all

Really liked this place! Nice room with a good view. The AC didn't seem to cool but that may have been the date being Oct. The food voucher was cool, but I wish the food options were listed in English as I needed to google translate every page. The elevators were a bit slow though.

Great location, easy walking to amazing fish market and brick market. Breakfast options at local restaurants was fabulous. Staff helpful with English for us foreign travellers. 18th floor onsen was incredible, then to relax in the 17th floor lounge with a drink. Truly a unique and pampering experience. Highly recommend!!

We booked a room with a private onsen. The onsen was small but perfect for a couple. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We arrived an hour before check-in time. They stored our luggage and asked us to return in an hour. The hotel is conveniently located, close to the train station, fish market and a 15 minute walk to the Red Brick Warehouse (shopping and restaurants).

Hotel is around 10 mins walk from Hakodate train station. It is very near the morning market. Room is small but there is washer/dryer so it is convenient to do laundry in the room. Hotel staff has a fine command of English, although it is noticeable that they are nervous when communicating in English. Even if you reach the hotel early, they won't perform registration until check-in time. Do cater time for check-in as there is a queue during check-in. If you arrive early, most other hotels will register first even if room is not ready and one can collect the room key during check-in hours but this hotel doesn't have this arrangement. The lounge has a nice view of the city.

This is heavens found for raw seafood lover and onsen enthusiasts. The hotel's arrangement made with the Asaichi (Morning Market) for breakfast is incredible! You can decide from 60 seafood specialties from the in room menu then exchange your purchased breakfast ticket at the affiliated vendor. Tokyu's reputation and clout allowed them to get you great breakfast values, introducing you to the vendor's specialties. Absolutely the best Asaichi experience possible. Their 18th floor Onsen has one of the best night view of Hakodate, second only to the Hakodate tower. And you can enjoy it while soaking naked in open air mineral spring splendor. It is a once in a lifetime experience that is available to you at your leisure during your stay. Their 17th floor lounge not only offers killer view of Hakodate marina and coastlines (and almost all the major tourist attraction) but is also family friendly offering famous local Hokkaido ice cream for the non-drinkers alongside fine familiar alcoholic libations. Unlike most chain establishment, there is no attempt to "milk the guest for the killer views". Room sizes are standard Japanese (small!) but it is designed for travellers comfort down to every details. including your own ensuite laundry! Staff members are some of the nicest and most helpful Japanese I have ever met. Their location walkable 5 minutes from the JR station also make coming and leaving totally stress.free. No doubt that we will return to Hakodate to stay at Tokyu!

Wonderful stay!
Great location. Easy walk from train station and no shortage of food and restaurants near hotel. Easy walk to Toyota rental car. Hotel is great and great size rooms.
