"The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is currently being renovated (restaurant is closed so breakfast is in another hotel 10 minutes walk away) and my room felt like it had been rushed. The bathroom ceiling wasn't finished properly (grout missing from around the tiles and badly painted), there wasn't a night stand next to the bed, had two single duvets instead of one double. Just little things that they should do better for £200+ per night."

"It was a nice quiet hotel and quite accommodating. I had a mixup in my reservation, making it for the wrong date, but they were able to give me a room and refund the wrong date, despite the non-refund policy. They have a good breakfast. "This is a friendly hotel, run by very nice people and is well located to visit the south coast of Iceland around Vik. Some of the decor is a little tired but the hotel has a homely 'old fashioned' feel to it, giving it a cosy atmosphere. Breakfast was very good. One comment I would make is that the mattresses on the beds need replacing, they were quite lumpy. If that could be done, then I'd definitely recommend a stay at the Fljotshlid"

"We stayed on our last night in Iceland. The rooms are albeit old fashioned, for a 1 night stay, it's decent. There's a restaurant and the breakfast was nice. This is very close to all the great falls around that area and you can see northern lights right above the hotel. We saw northern lights in Vik and here on the second day. It was beautiful and they also have places you can scan and go to watch the Aurora. 2 hours from the international airport. "
