Likes: staff, ocean, watching surfers, good breakfast, National park with sloths 1 hour away for $128 each - pick up at hotel. Shuttles on time!, beautiful pool and vegetation. Dislikes: Damp and stringy towels were provided every day Beach made of dirty dirt and rocks, uncontrolled humidity in rooms, loud thumping music from bar after 10pm. No fun shops in town. High prices on food and drinks. ( beer $7, well drink $12-13! Small bottle of Jack Daniels $76!!! That’s USA money my friends!). Early November not good for USA. Too many loud teens coming off beach area. ATM in town was broken. Hard core beach leaches who tell you they take credit cards but don’t and the word NO is not in their vocabulary. Hotel said they were not responsible but lots were out there waiting for prey. Like the Atlantic side, the Pacific side had lots of razor wire fences and the total decor was prison like. Once in awhile you spotted a nice house or hotel but most were like South Africa’s tin shacks for the blacks. This was supposed to be a relaxing trip but proved to be the opposite. We are avid travelers in the mid to low ‘70s range. We have been to over 35 countries and 5 continents and I’m sad to say that this was one of the worse. Forget cleanliness

Such a beautiful place! We didn't want to leave!
Beauty every where you look. Easy access to downtown. It was fun to watch the surfers and play in the water. Everyone was friendly, the pool was sparkling clean, and the food was great!

A bit outdated hotel right on a beach. Every member of the staff is very helpful, nice and friendly. Easy 15 minutes of walking distance to Jaco. Beach is beautiful but ideal for surfers not so much to swim. Wildlife is around. Great location. Planning to comeback. P.S. I would only suggest to work on breakfast menu ( same two options all the time) and menu in general.

We had a wonderful, relaxing time. Pool right outside our room with the beach within 50 feet. Beautiful scenery and wildlife. Lunch and supper options were delicious and it was within walking distance to other meal options and shopping. We would stay again
