Beautiful old hotel, but off the beaten track - well outside the town of Kendall. Nice pool. Run by a single staff (out front) who was exceedingly kind. A restful spot.

Sadly I didn’t have time to go to the pool so cannot comment. Breakfast had good choices of hot and cold food. Portions more than adequate. Staff very friendly. Well appointed - 10-15 mins to walk to Kendal town centre. Would definitely stay again,

The staff were very friendly throughout our stay. The room was comfortable and very clean. The pool was great. There was a great selection for breakfast and the food was very good and plentiful. We would definitely stay here again when visiting the Lake District area.

Nice premesis but shower did not work properly and was far too hot on the room. Far from perfect but was OK. Breakfast in the morning was utterly garbage. My other half is a vegetarian who does not like mushrooms so the kitchen thought it was acceptable to serve a rammakin of beans, 2 veggie sausages and a single hash brown for a veggie breakfast. Staff were nice enough and the bar and everyrhing was fine.

Great Hotel in an excellent location.
Great Hotel in an excellent location. Staff all very friendly and attentive. Good range of breakfast choice. Swimming pool and spa facilities are good, although the swimming lessons being held are a little inconvenient. Would definitely visit again.

It was unfortunate that a large coach party was staying the night we were there. This meant large queues at the bar & the evening meal we'd booked for 7pm never happened, so we drove to find a pub which served meals.

Our room was clean and comfortable, nicely decorated. The restaurant/breakfast area also clean and tastefully decorated. A large variety of choice for breakfast. Very friendly staff and helpful. Would recommend this reasonably priced hotel to friends or family.

A lovely hotel, but a little far out of Kendal
The hotel was very nice. They only problems were – like facilities for disabled people In-The spa changing rooms. I am disabled and there were no chairs in the changing rooms.. Unfortunately, there was no hot water in our Bathroom. This was reported and they tried to correct the problem but were unable to provide any hot water during our stay.. The position of the hotel was quite good, but a car was needed to go into Kendall. We absolutely loved Windermere. And we would go again, but next time we would get a hotel nearer to the facilities.

Great Overall Stay
Overall a very good and comfortable hotel to act as a base to explore the beautiful Lake District. We dined in the restaurant once and had mixed opinions over the quality of our meal. The spa area despite being refurbished needs a little attention including fixing a broken jacuzzi feature and also adjusting the steam room to actually produce some steam. These little things reflect our 4 star review (rather than full 5). The staff were amazing, very helpful and professional but also friendly and good sense of humour. Room size excellent and certainly comfortable for a 3 night stay (and even longer potentially). Some attention needed in the room re small decorative/cosmetic issues. Did not affect our stay though. However to be a 5 star review the hotel would need to address these.
