"This hotel is need a little glamour lift on the outside, the location is spectacular, the staff excellent, so clean you could eat off the floor, food is great with an eclectic variety, and I cannot praise it enough. Lovely interior, speed check-in, wonderful bar/lounge and the locarion is great. The elevator is small so travel light or beware if you have claustrophobia. "

"This was night four of my Inner Hebrides holiday on the MV Hebridean Princess. Night 4 on a long very long journey from the south coast. The hotel is imposing, central, very convenient for the railway station, the ferry port and the town centre. It is a "grand" hotel in the tradition of Victorian grand hotels. The staff are friendly, helpful & knowledgeable and gave me the advice I needed. Not withstanding I'd booked in March, I was up on 5th floor in a room which was fine for one night but...

"I was initially a bit worried about noise from the very busy road outside, but the double glazing was excellent and I never heard any traffic at all. My single room was clean, comfortable, well equipped and had an excellent shower in the ensuite. My only slight niggle was the lack of BBC1 and BBC2 on the TV (despite me reinstalling the channels). "Really enjoyed our stay here. It's right in the middle of the main shopping and dining area, and was the perfect location for us. The rooms are clean and comfy, and the staff is very helpful. They don't do breakfast, but give each guest a little goodie bag each morning. The pub downstairs is lively and fun, but not too loud."
