Great medium sized city. Beautiful and feels very safe.
We were just visiting family so no sightseeing.
Lots to see especially Gutenberg Museum, St Stephens and its Chagall stained glass, and Rhine boat trips. Also its a great centre to get elsewhere by train.
We arrived on the bank holiday, everything was shut! Even the traffic lights were off! Unfortunately nobody told us this is a holiday when everything is shut. Otherwise we had visited a street festival in Mainz, visited magnificent churches, had fun
