"Il Santavenere is definitely a 10/10 experience. From the moment you arrive you are in a true oasis - just what you want from a break by the sea. The staff are all (and I mean all) friendly, personable and helpful. The rooms are luxurious, including the beds and washrooms, without being overly showy. The views overlooking the sea are stunning. Maratea itself is definitely a nice little town and Il Santavenere is a hidden gem in Basilicata. We're already planning our next trip back and can't wait to be there again!"

"The are a number of hidden surcharges. While not excessive or unreasonable, The hotel should do a better job of informing guest of surcharges before a guest accepts the service."

"We enjoyed our stay very much. Leonardo got us checked in promptly on our arrival and made a great recommendation for dinner which he also took care of making our reservation for. Sonia took great care of us, providing an excellent breakfast. Everyone was so friendly."

"The staff were very friendly. It was quiet and clean. Breakfasts were fabulous and included amazing gluten free croissants for those who need it. Really wanted to eat at the Pagoda but it was closed for the season in October which was disappointing but found lots of yummy places within waking distance in town. Highly recommend."
