"We booked this property for end of September 2024 based on the reviews we read and we liked the look of the pool area. We was not disappointed. The staff were excellent and every request was met with a speedy response and the hotel was very clean. The pool was great with stunning views. However, to have these views you have to be prepared to climb some hills. Yes it was hard work but well worth the effort as the view is simply beautiful. "Great one night stay at Hotel Mato. Traditional old Greek house where the lady owner was so helpful and friendly. We had a room at the top of the house (up a spiral staircase) which had a spacious balcony with amazing views of the port. Lovely traditional Greek breakfast. The location is fantastic for Skiathos old town and the ferry port. Would recommend (as long as you like cats - she has tons them! ) "

"This hotel has had some bad reviews well to be honest I really don't understand why. The hotel is clean, the views are great, the pool is clean and the breakfast is ok ( we had b&b not half board). Yes you need transport to get about however we walked into town on several occasions and didn't find the 30-40 min walk that bad and we're both in our early 60's, there's actually a free shuttle bus which runs 3 times a day into town and twice back from town. "The view was beautiful and the walk to town was a little over 20 minutes, that said our room had a terrible smell in the 'kitchen area closet' they tried to clean it on the second day but it smelled so bad we had to sleep with the door open. The rest of the room was clean, towels were very rough (maybe air dried). I wish I could score it higher but the smell (like a dead animal) really ruined our stay, it was good we were gone most of the day. "
