The staff is really bad and this is a timeshare. So if you find it relaxing to be hounded to buy a membership for a resort that has the worst customer service you found your place.

I want to start with the fact that the staff were very friendly, rooms were big and the property was clean. Although the food was decent, there isn’t enough evening dining for everyone at the resort and half the resort own time shares there (which they’ll try to sell you on) and the timeshare owners can make reservations further in advance. Pushing a lot of people to the buffet for dinner. A place that was so hot most evening staff and guest were profusely sweating (granted we did visit in early June when temps are higher). They could accommodate a 5pm or after 9pm dinner reservation on two of the nights we were there and I do recommend talking with the two restaurants directly when they open because they were able to get us in if someone cancelled. It should not be able to be a VIP member hotel. At check in I was told our “Perk” was not having to change rooms mid stay to one of the timeshare owners, lol! It was a four night trip. They did us a $50 resort credit but the other group we were with also got that same benefit so I assumed that’s standard. All in all it was an ok visit but we would never go back to the Royal Hacienda for our travels again. It may be better if you are looking to be part of a time share with them. They have people in daily devoted to selling you on it in return for free tours, massages, etc. We didn’t partake in the presentations but there are many opportunities to if you would like.

This is not meant to be an inclusive resort. The restaurants are only accessible to “owners” with timeshares. Though the restaurants were all empty, we could only go one night the week we were there. (And tbh, the food was meh) The food is mediocre at best. We were harassed to do their timeshare meeting and told over and over that things were only available to owners. It was pulling teeth to get house cleaning to come and they always came late in the afternoon when we were in the room. The drinks are reallllly bottom shelf. We didn’t even go to the beach bc it’s small, dirty and will of debris. Other guests reported a lot of glass on the beach so we didn’t bother and wouldn’t let the kids go. There are way better options at this price point. Biggest pro is that we were with 4 kids and the place was well set up for them - the kids club is dingy but the kids still liked it and the pools were great for them. Several staff members were very nice (and constantly asking me to mention them by name in a review…) but many others were difficult. All in all, we had a great time being together as a family but won’t be going back.

The property is nice and clean but if you’re a beach goer this is NOT the resort for you. The beach was rocky, has random tree trunks and a cliff. It was dangerous to swim. There was also minimal beach/sand space. The area around the beach looks run down. The reservation restaurants are mostly for the “members” and if you’ve been once good luck getting a 2nd chance. We were only able to go once. The all inclusive excludes some item and it’s annoying to have menu items not a part of the all inclusive. Overall wouldn’t stay here again.

My family liked the comfort of the room and the room service. There are 6 pools, so there was always open space to swim or relax in a lounger. We did not like the beach; it was rocky and covered in tree stumps and debris. There was also alot of pressure to attend a time share presentation immediately after check-in (before going to the room) that continued for a few days.

This place gets a 5 for rooms and a 1 for food. Been coming to the area for 15 years, and this is the worst food situation I encountered an all inclusive. They cater to their members, who take all the space at the restaurants, leaving us to the buffet ( which serves repetitive cold food). We managed to get reservation for 1 of their restaurants after a LOT of begging - they food there is amazing - but I bet they can only take 20 families per night ( if I had to guess). The room gets cleaned daily. We loved the room with the kids sleeping on the Murphy bed, but I will have to switch resorts because I can't take this food anymore ( even breakfast is so bad). yesterday we got a call from concierge saying the got us down for a reservation, then we call to confirm - turn out our name is nowhere on any list. I really wanted to love this place, they already have such amazing grounds - it seems like it would be super easy to improve the food quality. I am Brazilian and their Brazilian night had 0 Brazilian items with the exception of the name on 1 dish. Absolutely LOVED their Asian restaurant - But getting 1 dinner reservation on a one week stay seems wild. Clean grounds and kids were happy at the kids club.

Very well clean and maintained everything close and walkable all around the property. The rooms were decent size and very clean. The food was good most of the time depending on the thematic night, they need to improve variety in the deserts and amount of what they offer, because sometimes if the fruits was gone they didn’t have more to keep the supply, and the hotel in my opinion wasn’t that busy. It was very frustrating that the property only had two thematic restaurants and it was hard to get appointments there, also imposible to get a hibachi table in the Japanese restaurant! I stayed for 9 nights and never had the chance to eat there, one day they offer me dinner there at 5:00 pm in a regular table, they told me that was the only available spot, this in my entire time staying there! They were very nice! The employees where excellent, sometimes the concierge was trying to convince me to get those conferences to become a partner with I think where the only people who got the chance with those 3 hibachi tables that had that restaurant. The beach had great sand, but, inside the water was like full of wood and rocks, hard to enjoy and in top of that the weather was not good in this days that had nothing to do with the place. If you are more like exploring person I’ll recommend walking around the beach toward the south and haft mile or less you will found clear water and beautiful sandy beach, with not much waves area it’s before reaching the next hotel.
