"Brathay Lodge makes for a very comfortable and convenient stay in the Lake District. The room was modern and well-maintained and the staff friendly and considerate. There is a parking fee (unless booked direct) but you’d have to pay elsewhere anyway. If you have an electric car it’s a good idea to let them know in advance so you can use their reasonably-priced ProjectEV charger. The continental breakfast was fresh and varied and set us up for the day. Would definitely stay there again. "

"Comfortable, attractive property and room in a quiet neighborhood; ten minute walk from the train station and steps from shops and restaurants. There are some nice walks nearby and it's not far from the lake. The vegetarian English breakfast was excellent--much tastier than others I've had--and there was fresh fruit, homemade jam, decent coffee. Hilton, the host, was very welcoming, helpful, informative, and accommodating."

"We loved everything about Oakfold House. The quiet yet close to everything location, the beautiful room and view from our room, delicious breakfast. Easy access to buses to explore the many towns around the lake, as we did not have a car. Chris and Robyn were extremely helpful and lovely to chat to - cannot recommend highly enough."

"Right on the edge of Grasmere village, a maximum 10 minute walk. Suite was very comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. Two pubs within walking distance, the best being the Travellers Rest, excellent food. One thing to note, no breakfast is included with this accommodation but you do get a discount at a good local 'cafe'."
