On booking in we were upgraded to a suite (probably to accommodate the many motorcycle and pedal cycle group tours that use the property). The suite was overly large for 2 people, was musty smelling, very dark and overlooked the road with no pleasant view. "Lovely situation, overlooking the river and with restaurants and shops in the street just behind. Staff were not very friendly - reception was very businesslike and the cleaner complained at 9.10am that we were still in the room and would not be able to come back later to clean the room! Staff at breakfast were very slow to respond to our requests. No parking outside on a busy street, so we had to drop our bags off and look for parking elsewhere, which worked reasonably well.
