"Stayed for 2 nights as part of a road trip around France. Nice clean site, helpful staff, out of season so very quiet. Like 3 of the other hotels we stayed in during this trip, the swimming pool was not open when we tried to use it despite it being advertised, but otherwise all good"

"Great location, lovely pool! The rooms are spacious. It would. We didn't know until we left that there were some breakfast products available in the building next to the pool. Also, there wasn't any info on the gym. A bit more comprehensive info in English (probably other languages too) would really help. Also, check in time of 5pm is really late, and check out of 10 is too early. I appreciate they need to clean a whole apartment, but its difficult to work with those times."

"Just brilliant. The rooms are in an excellent refurbishment of an ancient house in the centre of the medieval city. Communication was excellent - we loved the films describing where to find the parking and the entrance. The parking is free and close so please dont let that put you off staying here."

"The hotel is situated on a one way road into the main town which is wonderful to walk in a few mins. However it’s also super noisy through the night with cars and people walking past. Public parking is right outside hotel. It was free at this time of year, but very very busy. But you can book a separate car parking with hotel. "A former 15th century residence, Le Petit Manoir is long on charm but if you're not good with stairs, be sure to book a ground-level room. Our room, The Colette, was reachable only by a spiral staircase that is not for the faint-hearted. The ceiling beams were charming but head-bumping hazards if you're tall. We were traveling without a car and the staff was helpful in booking us taxis (a car would have been handy but we're getting too old to drive in France). Breakfast had lots a variety and great baked goods. The location can't be beat, and I'd imagine in the summer it would be quiet oasis mere footsteps from where the action is. We would recommend this hotel to friends who like historic properties."

"La Villa des Consuls is located in the heart of old Sarlat, with all the amenities that entails. The staff is nice and helpful, putting us in touch with a great guide and setting up our taxis to and from the rail station. Breakfast is tasty and reasonably priced, but above all, our two bedroom room was spacious, comfortable, and beautiful. It also included a usable kitchen and a small balcony overlooking the main commercial street. Despite that, it was quiet. I highly recommend this hotel."

Domaine du Château de Monrecour – Hôtel et Restaurant

Stay more than 1 night!

"1. Arrive in the daylight! This is Deep France, so it's a little confusing to find in the dark. 2. Stay in the Chateau part of the house. Our romantic room was BEAUTIFUL and just like the photos. Our -in-laws had a family room, and it was very large! 3. You should reserve for dinner since there isn't much else if you arrive in the evening. We missed it and ended up eating pizza in a parking lot! 4. Breakfast "buffet" was impressive, both the beautiful DR setting and the variety of food. Worth the $. 5. We were there in March, so still early spring, but the pool area and grounds looked very inviting for warmer weather. 6. Excellent treatment at reception for both arrival and departure. 7. Room/beds/AWESOME shower! We would love to return!"
