"Loved staying here for the cultural experience. It is very authentic - it makes you feel as if you have travelled back in time! There is a beautiful little garden and the o-furo is very relaxing. The futons were top quality super comfy too! The land-lady is very lovely and a wonderful host. She made sure we had everything we needed and even helped us with dressing in our kimono which we hired for the day. 100% recommend! "Room was nice and spacious even despite the size. Buyer beware, pool is extra charge for each visit (2 hours only). Breakfast buffet was okay but no variety or chamge day to day. Staff were very nice and helpful with all inquiries. Shuttle to train station was nice, clean and fast. Smoking room needs air purification. Bar in basement was a great atmosphere and fabulous staff. "APA Hotel Eki Horikawadori rooms seemed smaller than other Japanese hotels. It was amazing how everything fit just perfectly in the room. We were on the 2nd floor and it was very noisy from the traffic and the trains. Otherwise it was a okay room. Next time I will request a higher floor to avoid the noise. Near Kyoto station. "
