A lovely old building, magnificent in its heyday, but now needs some TLC. While room was basic tables were scuffed and chair had seen better days. Breakfast was good.

Building very old, could do with updating. The stair carpets are worn, windows need updating and painting. Bathroom in room 107 needs renovating. There was an unpleasant odour in the corridor towards room 107. Breakfast and breakfast staff excellent.

A rather historic building with it's charm and character unfortunately it's looking rather tired in places and could use some serious updating and repairing, based on the cost of the room it was a very reasonable trip and the arrangements for breakfast were very well organised

This is a very old and historic hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Although I arrived too early for check in I was able to leave my bag there and they gave me directions and a map of where I wanted to go. The room had recently been decorated, the bed and pillows were very comfortable. As mentioned this is a very old building so the floor boards are creaky and there is no double glazing. There are sash windows. I had a view of the main street which was fantastic, if a little noisy. Bathroom very clean and lovely shower. Apparently the room I stayed in had also been occupied by Charles Dickens. Breakfast was great. I can't eat gluten. They had a choice of gluten free cereals, fruit, and cooked breakfast. Ideal location right on a main street with easy access to everything,

Firstly, the staff were very helpful, really friendly and very accomodating. The threadbare carpet in the halls and landing, the faulty shower, window curtains that didn't close etc not so good. The room was clean but tired. It was a long, long way to our room with endless corridors and stairs , so any hone with any level of mobility issues would not cope, Breakfast seemed good, although we didn't have full english my poached eggs on toast were perfect. Again ,the host for the dining room was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The central position and parking was useful so don't dismiss it just don't expect too much luxury.

The Lion hotel is in a very good location with parking. Staff are friendly and polite. Overall this hotel needs a bit of TLC and updating, whilst it was clean the interior is shabby. For me the breakfast was not great I like my tea in a pot and not a tea bag with hot water from the machine and the cooked breakfast was warm and unappetising. Overall if these points were addressed I would go back for another visit. Linda North Wales.

It's uniqueness and history Lovely fiendly staff. Breakfast fine Apart from my bedroom which was fine and comfortable the rest of the buiding was somewhat dowdy and needs a makeover.
