Had a King Suite on second floor. Access via elevator, they had luggage trolley's available upon check-in and it wasn't that busy even though the hotel was full. Very friendly staff who were helpful finding us a room closer to the elevator.

Staff was helpful & nice. Room comfortable with sufficient towels. Steps away from Tim Hortons & Montana. Breakfast needs more variety, only basic items, no hot foods. Wakeup call did not work on 1st morning; was 1 hr late the next morning. Pool was not heated.

When we checked into our room there was a weird smell. Turned out it was some previous guests leftover food left in the desk drawer. Let the front desk know and they didn't seem to care. The couch in our suit is what i would call broken. When you sat in the couch the springs would just crunch and sink your body into it. Not comfortable at all. This was also brought to the attention of the front desk. They said they would look at it but nothing was ever done. The listing for the room stated free breakfast. What they had is not what i would call a breakfast, The food consisted of mainly toast and cereal. No hot eggs, bacon, or sausages or any other thing you would say is a breakfast. The hot tub was exactly that a hot tub. The jets for the tub were not working. What was good about the stay. The room size was nice, local restaurants and stores are nearby.

The property is a bit far from the city center. If you do not have a car, it can be difficult to navigate. Taxi services are not super reliable. I was waiting for a taxi to take me to the airport, normally a 10 minute drive away and I was waiting for 30 minutes. I liked that the property offered a continental breakfast (pancakes, bagels/toast, oatmeal, cereal, fruits, boiled eggs, yogurt) from 5am to 10am. If that doesnt float your boat then you have Tim Hortons across the parking lot. Montana's is also there for convenience. Confederation College is close by and Lakehead University is about a 10-15 minute walk down the street. Be careful of the walking directions because Google might have you walking on an expressway which has no side walks! One thing I didn't like is that even though you book your room at a certaij price, apparently the price changes EACH DAY. So beware. You might think you are getting a deal at $100 per night but that is ONLY the first night, the following night may go up or down. In my case the price went up significantly. The room was relatively clean- one bed had some unidentifiable spots and some hair on it but thankfully, there was another bed that was clean. I would rate this property over all a 3.5/5. More transparency on the price would be appreciated.
