The staff are all (and I mean all) friendly, personable and helpful. The rooms are luxurious, including the beds and washrooms, without being overly showy. The views overlooking the sea are stunning. Maratea itself is definitely a nice little town and Il Santavenere is a hidden gem in Basilicata. We're already planning our next trip back and can't wait to be there again!"

"Vittorio is super friendly, his place is modern and clean. He went out of his way to make our short stay very enjoyable by sending us to his friends' great beach club on the ocean across the street. The breakfast was excellent! Before arriving in the town of Scalea, Vittorio will gladly provide you with detailed direction to the property."

"The place is old but very confortable. Sea view room comes with a balcony (if requested). There are limited restaurant facilities and the breakfast is a par below what it should be, in my opinion, but otherwise, overall, very nice place."
