"Loved the property - a couple of extra overs - the room was very warm when we arrived - I am sure we could have borrowed a fan but installing air con may be an option. Also for a hotel of this standing I would have expected a far better hair dryer than the one available. Lastly not that its was in any way the fault of the hotel but the weather on one day was terrible - the ferries were cancelled - I wonder therefore if it would have been a good PR exercise to perhaps put a cakes in the lounge...

"Had problems sleeping. Room far too hot despite no heating on. After first night asked for lighter bedding and more comfortable pillows. These were provided willingly and improved matters but did not solve the problem. "

"We only stayed one night, we arrived late and had to leave early in the morning as the check out is at 10:30 anyway, but the room was much better than we expected. We would recommend it. Lovely nicely decorated and spacious spotless bedroom. "

"Lovely old building, and the staff were exceptional. Very friendly and helpful. Room was clean, but the bathroom needed a bit of an update as it was showing signs of wear. Bed was hard, but this is down to personal preference. Breakfast was really good, a delicious continental style with quality options; I'm so used to hotels cutting corners in this regard so was delighted with the spread available. I didn't try the restaurant but the menu on display looked lovely. Would recommend."

"The quality and comfort food etc was excellent but my disappointment at check-in was paying a 3,5 % surcharge because I was paying by a cash card ( not even Amex or Diners) especially when Hotels .com guarantees the amount you pay at the time of booking This surcharge should be on the booking details. I have booked Hotels in Italy where they state payment in cash only no cards"
