"A jewel of East Java. Staying at Tugu is an experience in its own right … with an internationally important art collection on display, a feature pool, afternoon tea, a fine cocktail bar and dining options on site. Truly the most attentive staff and helpful staff. My one suggestion is to better inform guests of breakfast options available to them … although priced differently (but still reasonably) the a la carte is a substantially different offering for European guests compared with the buffet....

"There were hiccups because most of the staff didn't speak English. Our room wasn't cleaned, probably due to an oversight. But staff were generally pleasant and helpful. The resort and nearby safari park are beautiful. The safari was very well designed with the lions and tigers kept in enclosed areas without visible bars, while zebras and deer could mingle with the vehicles coming into their area. "
