4/5 - Good
Worth paying extra to get in early before the official opening time. It is so busy once the doors open, and we had the place to ourselves for nearly an hour before it became crowded.

We arrived at 9:30 in the morning having booked on-line, the place was overflowing and as someone with s light mobility problem even I found it in-accessible and I dread to think how people in wheelchairs can experience the museum
Brilliant, especially the Sistine chapel, so make sure you go in time to see it. It is 17 euros to get in but dont listen to the tour guides outside who will charge you extortionate prices. Audio tours are available inside. Probably not suitable for those who dont enjoy religious artefacts, but who am I to judge.
Go around midday to avoid the crowds, most people try get there early so go when everyone leaves for lunch!
get tickets before you go
Extremely busy so hard to take in the full experience enjoyably. Prepare for queues and long waits to get to the Sistine Chapel
