San Samuele vaporetto stop is less than. 5 minute walk. The area is full of Osteria and Baccaria to eat. The entrance does not have the name of the property on it, so it is easy to miss. "Ca' Nigra is the best. Mia and Narcisso at the desk are wonderful, they had great suggestions. The hotel is an oasis and off the beaten path: quiet, great rooms, and literally the only green spot that I saw in Venice. You have your own private rose garden on the grand canal! Truly a fabulous stay. "
