If you’re poorly prepared, air travel can be tough. But there’s no need to worry. Follow these handy tips and enjoy a worry-free start to your holiday in Iskandar Puteri. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a comfortable experience if you take the right stuff. Firstly, you’ll want a few basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a clean set of clothes and a good book. Secondly, find a spot in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, medications and maybe a proper neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, don’t forget to take your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and poisons, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The best way to ensure a comfortable flight can be as simple as your clothing choices. Prepare for temperature changes by layering up. This will keep you nice and warm if the cabin begins to cool down. Shoes like flip flops and heels are best left in your checked suitcase. Instead, opt for flat, closed-toed footwear like sneakers. Your feet will appreciate it.
- A serious condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It’s the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation. Walking up and down the aisle and doing leg and foot exercises while seated helps to prevent this occurring. Wearing a good pair of compression tights or socks also helps reduce the risk.
