If you’re not prepared, air travel can be challenging. But there’s no need to panic. Follow these tips and tricks for a trouble-free start to your holiday in Long Bay.What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a cruisy experience if you take the right things. Firstly, you’ll need basic toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a clean set of clothes and something to read. Next, make room in your carry-on bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, any medications and maybe a neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, remember to take your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items can differ between airlines, the general guide to follow is nothing flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes things like knives, scissors, aerosol cans and bleaching agents. Sports equipment like golf clubs, and objects that could harm passengers, such as pepper spray and guns, can’t come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of a plane are no fashion runway. Don comfortable layers and pack a sweater as it can get chilly in the cabin during long-haul flights. Enclosed, flat shoes are always a good idea too.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long-haul flights is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by extended periods of inactivity. To avoid this, take every opportunity to wander around the cabin. Compression socks and tights are another simple way to help minimize this risk.
