Depending on where you’re coming from, your journey to Mexico City could be completely painless or it could go on forever. We’ve pulled together some handy travel tips that will help you start your unforgettable escape on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a stress-free experience if you carry the right things. First things first, you’ll need toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a spare change of clothes and a good novel. Next, make room in your carry-on bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow as well. Lastly, remember to bring your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp objects, like your precious Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and fuels, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your number one priority is to make yourself as comfortable as you can. Don layers of natural fibers and take a pullover in case you get cold. Pick well-fitting, flat shoes as it’s possible that your feet and ankles will swell a little during the flight. Leave the high heels and chunky boots in your checked luggage.
- A condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It’s the result of blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation. Walking up and down the aisle and doing foot and leg exercises while seated is a great way to prevent this developing. Wearing a good-quality pair of compression tights or socks also helps reduce your risk.
