If you’re not prepared, air travel can be challenging. But don’t hit the panic button just yet. Follow these handy tips for a trouble-free start to your getaway in Tralee. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a great experience if you pack the right things. First things first, you’ll need toiletry items, such as toothpaste, a toothbrush and some deodorant, a clean set of clothes and a good book. Next, make room in your carry-on bag for your phone and charger, any medications and maybe a quality neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to take your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don’t have sharp or pointed objects lurking in your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include explosive or flammable goods, such as aerosol cans and fuel, and gels and liquids in containers larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The long, narrow aisles of your plane are not the best place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and take a cardigan as it can get quite cool inside the cabin during long-haul flights. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are also a good idea.
- Unfortunately, a risk of long-haul flights is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To prevent this from happening, take every opportunity to walk around and give your legs a stretch. Compression tights and socks are another simple way to help minimize this risk.
