"Amazing service from the moment we walked in the door. Seamless check in. The room exceeded our expectations. Looks like a very nice pool however our timeline didn’t allow us to use it. So far no complaints. Will try the breakfast buffet tomorrow morning. It’s nice they offer a shuttle to the airport."

"Property was beautiful with lush gardens. Convenient location to restaurants and shops. The 4 pools were clean and well maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful. Definetly felt safe and welcomed. Our room was smaller then expected but contained the essentials. We stayed during a very wet season, so clothes stayed damp and was a bit of musty smell in room. Even though it rained everyday, there was still lots to do. I would definetly recommend this property and stay here again. "

"I have stayed at Riu Guanacaste twice now and my wife and I have had a wonderful relaxing vacation. All the employees were there to assist me if I needed anything and were completely helpful. I would go there again in a heartbeat. "

"The resort is beautiful, but the food was not that great. Coffee was good. I would go back again. "

"I really loved the staff and I did enjoy the resort but there are a few things that need attention. I like that you can go to the other Rio resort as well. I will say the buffet was great for breakfast and lunch but at dinner time it was not so great. The seating was a little unorganized at the buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Some people would just be told to sit anywhere and there would be someone sitting there already so it caused some confusion and frustration with some guests. The A La Carte restaurants were not explained properly at the front desk. We were told to go at 530pm to make the line and then we would receive a beeper to come back when a table was ready but that was not the case at all. We needed to go back once they opened and see if they had any tables for the night. The pool bar staff (Calero, Christopher and Richard) were amazing and the drinks were always on point. Pool entertainment was good. Naye always made her way around talking to everyone and I loved that she was so personable. Night shows were pretty good. The room was cleaned everyday but our TV did not work. I called a few times and went to the front desk several times and no one ever came to fix it. The beach was a black sand beach and wasn’t too pretty. The amount of solicitors on the beach was insane! We walked down there once in our 6 day stay and that was enough. I would definitely go back and give it another try. "

"Great layout, we were busy all day between the beach, multiple pools, and activities for the family at various locations around the resort. The food was great as well. Great breakfast, lunch, and snack options throughout the day. The dinner restaurants were all well run and delicious. Highly recommend this resort."
