"As nice as the owner and family are, I can't really recommend this place. Location is 2km out of town so you must have a car. Location is very quiet at night but in the hotel room you can hear water running from toilets etc in other rooms and people walking on the floor above. And I had some sort of tapping sound in my room early in the morning on the second night which made it hard to sleep. There is a fridge and hot water urn in the room, but no tea or coffee (lucky I had my own)and only...

Unfortunately the breakfast rooms were at least 500 metres away, I was in the South wing and all the breakfast places were in the North wing. "This resort delivered in everything I expected. It has the outdoor onsen view, excellent room, and the delicious meals. I really loved the breakfast, because I felt all of the dishes worth eating were delivered well, and they weren't overwhelming or gimicky. Just good ol' Japanese and Japanese-Western dishes. I didn't like the dinner because I felt a lot of them were kind of gimicky. I was a bit disappointed that none of them felt like they were representative of Hokkaido dishes though."

Toyako Manseikaku Hotel Lakeside Terrace

"The hotel is clean and convenient. The breakfast buffet was excellent with lots of variety. The Onsen experience was wonderful with beautiful view of the mountains. The room we had was very comfortable for three people. "

Relaxing stay

"It was a big hotel and there were large groups, but the hotels managed well. The car park was automatic and there was staff guiding you. The buffet was busy but food was sufficient. The quality was better than expected and we even had crab legs included. I didn't expect as I saw somewhere mentioned it was withdrawed. The room was spacious. The onsen was exceptional with plenty of varieties."
