"Casa Galos was a very nicely done complete remodel of an old mansion up the hill in Cerro Conception Valpo with a rooftop deck and great view of the harbor, and close to several excellent restaurants. The staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast healthy and fresh. I highly recommend it. "

"Booked a room with an ocean view a week before arriving for two day visit - and it delivered with great views and perspective across the ocean and city - better than some in the city the guidebooks will say are 'spectacular'. Very clean, quiet away from the port bustle below and very comfortable with excellent shower facilities and complimentary coffees. Good service overall too. If you have mobility issues then stairs up and down would be only reason to not stay here. "

"Cheap. Dirty. Bed full of ants. Good location. This is a step up from a hostel. Location is good for historical district. Room is dirty (e.g., little white specs on the bathroom walls from other people’s tooth brushing - ewwww!). Staff are OK. Tiny ants everywhere. In the bed. Biting."

Lots of good restaurants nearby, and the street art! I would come back to Valparaiso just to stay at this hotel."

"Absolutely amazing. Dead-center of everything you'll want to see and do in Valparaiso. If you can, get a room with the terrace view, which provides direct access to the stairs to the roof and its stunning 360 degree views. The couple that runs this place are just lovely and very knowledgeable of the surrounding area. Our only complaint was the lack of a mini-fridge in the room. A lot of the restaurants in the area served huge portions, and we had nowhere to put the leftovers."
