"After spending time trying to find a reasonably priced hotel we found this little gem. Some reviews were negative some positive. We were stopping over for a couple of days so just needed what it said on the tin!! The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the room basic, but very clean and air conditioned. "We stayed at the hotel Royal for 2 nights in October. The hotel is located just a 10 minute walk from the centre, however it is up quite a steep hill, so if you have a lot of baggage it’s not ideal. The room itself was ok, not as nice as the one shown in pictures but the bed was comfortable. "We actually walked to the property from the Catania bus station. This location is near bars, sex shop etc. I would it was unsafe but it also didn't feel very safe either because all the bars it's surrounded by. Outside of the property/street isn't super clean but it's Catania and most of the street were dirty. Inside the hotel was clean and super beautiful. The staff was super nice and helpful.
