"We stayed at the hotel Royal for 2 nights in October. The hotel is located just a 10 minute walk from the centre, however it is up quite a steep hill, so if you have a lot of baggage it’s not ideal. The room itself was ok, not as nice as the one shown in pictures but the bed was comfortable. He even arranged an Etna tour for us. The location was perfect! It is right at the Piazza al Duomo, where you can walk less than a minute to see the square, the church, plenty of dining options and lots of little shops. "Fantastic apartment! Very comfortable and you can’t beat the location. Comfortable bed, but you have to go up stairs to the bedroom and the bathroom is on the main floor. That is the only negative. Office for the building is around the corner and they arranged a taxi for me to the airport. The ladies in the office are very helpful. "The hotel is old but clean and very convenient to all the central areas of interest. The staff was great especially Angela! She was the most helpful and friendly person I met this vacation. Always a smile and volunteered to carry our luggage (in fact insisted) up the 70 steps to the room. She helped park our rental car in the courtyard and answered all our questions. I can not remember meeting a hotel staff member this friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good and served up on a rooftop...

"Hotel is well situated in a quiet area with lots of dining options. It’s also an easy walk to all the historic areas. We also used the hotel gym several times and we thought it was very decent. I would definitely recommend this hotel to people traveling in catania."
